The Biodiversity Club ELA (Eco Local Action) of Christian college is an organization of staff and students under the Kerala State Biodiversity Board.
Santhisthal
The Santhistal is a project of Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Christian College Biodiversity Club inorder to protect and conserve rare, endangered and threatened plant species. It would act as a natural laboratory for floristic and biodiversity studies in course of time. Santhistal is expected to become a sage refuge for the rare species of birds, amphibians and reptiles.
The ‘Santhistal’ will be monitored by Kerala State Biodiversity Board for the purpose for which it is established and any damage/destruction of the plant species will be presented and will be protected by the first party for the benefit of future generation. About 170 plants of different species has been planted by the club volunteers and is constantly taken care of on Saturdays.
